To clean your floor, depending on your floor, you will need a floor care product that works for your floor. If you have a carpeted floor you will need carpet cleaner and deodorizer, spot remover, and maybe even gum remover. If you have a non-carpeted floor you will be needing floor care products such as a good cleaning soap or solution, floor stripping product, wax, degreaser, and maybe a floor finishing care product.

Other Floor Care Products
One floor care product that you might not think about but is very needed is a baseboard cleaner. We are usually focusing on the major floor area and are not considering the baseboards at all. After a period of time the baseboards become grimy and dull. Baseboard cleaner is designed to specifically clean the baseboards from unwanted build up.

How often have you walked in your house or business and noticed a big hunk of someones already chewed gum stuck firmly to your carpet? You try to pull it off with your hand (gross), only to find out that the gum has a death grip on your carpet and it isnt coming off without a fight. Dont fight it yourself (believe me you will lose), let a gum remover do the fighting for you. The way it works is that it freezes the gum (or candle wax for that matter) and then lifts it off the carpet.

Another great floor care product is an anti-slip agent. This great for when you have a water or maybe even a grease spill and you need to add some traction to your floor until the spill is properly cleaned up. When it comes to cleaning up the granular powder of the anti-slip agent, it can be safely washed down the drain.

Cleaning: Carpet Care Products

No matter how clean your house or office is if your carpets are stained and dirty the whole place will look dirty. A clean looking carpet adds so much visual appeal to your home or office. Carpet care products can consist of spot remover, gum remover, and even carpet deodorizer.

Types of Carpet Care Products
Spots seem to be the biggest problem when it comes to keeping your carpets clean and looking clean. Carpet spot remover can be used for daily spotting or spotting prior to a general carpet cleaning. This ready to use water based carpet care product removes most water and oil based stains and spots.

Your carpet might be clean, but if it smells it wont seem clean. A good carpet deodorizer can help you achieve that total carpet clean. All you have to do is sprinkle your carpet deodorizer onto your clean carpet and then vacuum it up. The active odor fighting ingredients will pull out and eliminate and odor causing agents.

Before you shampoo your carpet you might want to use an enzyme digestant. This pre-spot treatment dissolves grease, dirt, organic stains, proteins, foot traffic, vomit, wine and even iodine. This will start the cleaning process for your carpet before you even begin to shampoo. Carpet care products need to do just that, care for your carpet. Make sure before you use any carpet care product that you test it on a small unnoticeable area of your carpet to be sure it wont discolor or remove the factory color from your carpet.

Cleaning: Utility Carts

Utility carts are a janitors carriage. Can you imaging trying to carry all those cleaning supplies without a cart? Ive been a janitor and I cant. You never know what cleaning supply or tool you will need next. There is no why to predict what mess my lie a head, so you need to have all your basic supplies on hand.

The Multi-Functions of Utility Carts
Utility carts are multi-functional. Some carts come with shelving that allows you to carry many things at one time. Others have only one shelve which can limit what you carry. There are some carts that have storage cabinets that allow separation for what you carry. There are also carts that have a combination of both. There will be shelves, cabinets, and even a place to carry a trash bag.

These carts are made of durable materials that can take the abuse of daily use. If your cart is used for cleaning then you will need a cart that not only carries your supplies, but also can be pushed, pulled, and turned repeatedly. No matter how careful you try to be you will bang your cart into walls, doors, tables and chairs. Make sure your cart is sturdy and durable.

Utility carts are made of durable material, but this material can either be metal or plastic. The metal carts will be some what lighter, but the plastic cart will be more durable. Metal will not be as flexible as plastic either. If your metal cart gets dented or bent it will not be as apt to return to its original shape. However, a plastic cart, even though it is a strong hard plastic, will provide a better chance of returning to its original shape.

Cleaning: Scrubbing Pads

Scrubbing pads help add a little more elbow grease to your cleaning job. Whether you choose to use a metal or nylon scrubbing pad you will be able to get rid of unwanted scuffs, stains, scraps, or you can even clean the burnt on remains of last nights (or last weeks for that matter) dinner from your pots and pans.

Differences in Scrubbing Pads
Believe it or not, all pads are not the same. There are pads for light duty scrubbing, pads for medium duty scrubbing, and there are pads made for that extra duty scrubbing. If you have a surface that scratches easily you will want to use a light duty pad. The more durable the surface the heavier the pad you can use.

You can also choose what kind of material you want your pads to be made from. Metal pads have been around the longest. They are made out of steel wool. All you have to do is add a cleaning agent and water to the area you want to clean and begin to scrub. Some metal pads come with a cleaning solution already built in. For these all you have to do is add water.

Metal pads fall apart and if left wet will actually rust. A great alternative to metal scrubbing pads is nylon pads. These pads work the same as a steel wool pad, but they are more durable and they dont rust. You can use nylon pads repeatedly, getting the same good scrubbing power each time. Eventually they will need to be replaced, but not as frequently as a steel wool pad. Which ever type of scrubbing pads you choose you will get a good scrubbing.

Cleaning: Squeegee Supplies

To get the ultimate use out of your squeegee there are certain squeegee supplies you will need. You will need an extension to reach those high places. You will need a new squeegee blade from time to time. You will also need to use certain squeegees for the right job. Are you going to squeegee windows or floors? The type of squeegee you use matters.

Squeegee Supplies for Better Results
Probably the most common use for a squeegee is cleaning windows. However, you cant clean windows with only a squeegee. There are some squeegee supplies you will need. You will need a squeegee sponge. They look like a squeegee but instead of having a rubber squeegee on the end there is a sponge for soaping the windows. After you have applied the soap you are ready to squeegee it away.

If you are like a lot of people and dont like to work from on top of a ladder, an extension pole for your squeegee is a great peace of equipment. These extension poles fit in the bottom end of your squeegee to help you reach those high places. They are aluminum built, usually about one inch in diameter, and they have an ergonomic grip for a comfortable hold. Extension poles for your squeegee are adjustable to help you reach various heights.

Floor squeegees and window squeegees are different. A floor squeegee is going to have a harder and thicker squeegee. A window squeegee will be smaller and more flexible. Many times you can purchase a squeegee that has interchangeable blades. Multiple squeegee blades are great additions to your squeegee supplies.
